Free Online Seminar: Toward a Data-Driven Multi-Scale Understanding of Fluid Machinery via High-Fidelity Simulations

We are happy to invite you to the free online seminar titled: "Toward a Data-Driven Multi-Scale Understanding of Fluid Machinery via High-Fidelity Simulations." The seminar will be presented by Prof. Davide Lengani, Associate Professor at the University of Genova and currently a visiting professor in the VKI Turbomachinery and Propulsion Department.
Date: Friday, May 30
Time: 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM
Abstract:
In our current “age of data,” high-fidelity experiments and numerical simulations can easily generate terabytes of data. While traditional statistical approaches offer important information, there is growing potential to complement them with more detailed data-driven analyses. This is especially relevant given the challenges of processing large datasets on local workstations.
High-performance computing not only enables high-fidelity simulations but also provides powerful tools for advanced data analytics. In this seminar, I will discuss the current capabilities of “high-performance” data analytics for investigating transport equations in high-fidelity simulations, and I will share insights into multi-scale flow field decomposition.
