Shivangi Sachar (zEPHYR ESR, IMP-PAN)

  • Investigation of Savonius VAWTs using CFD and experimental methods

15:00 - 15:10 Coffee Break

15:10 - 16:10 Wind Energy potential assessment in the city of Nottingham

  • Assessing the potential of wind turbine installation based on the prevalent
wind conditions in the city of Nottingham
    Shubham Shubham (zEPHYR ESR, NTU)
  • Using Weibull distribution estimation to calculate the wind energy potential -
    Shivangi Sachar (zEPHYR ESR, IMP-PAN)

16:10 - 16:20 Coffee Break

16:20 - 17:30 Aerodynamics and Aeroacoustics of Darrieus VAWT: a mid-fidelity and high-fidelity perspective
Shubham Shubham (zEPHYR ESR, NTU)

  • Mid-fidelity investigation using the Lifting Line method
  • High-fidelity investigation using the Lattice Boltzmann Method
  • Investigation on the effect of the number of blades, central tower and struts, skewed inflow, and hybrid blade shapes.

This workshop is organized in the framework of the Zephyr research project (Towards a more efficient exploitation of on-shore and urban wind energy resources funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant  agreement No 860101.
